Gravesend man charged with stealing jewellery and chocolates from businesses in Canterbury and Folkestone

A 20-year-old man suspected of stealing jewellery worth more than £14,000 has appeared in court.

Michael Gulas of Wallis Park, Gravesend, has been charged with nabbing the goods from a business in Northgate, Canterbury, on September 15.

He’s also accused of stealing headphones and aftershave worth a total of £270, and chocolate worth £116, from Folkestone shops on 26 October.

Gulas has also been charged with burgling a property in Coolinge Road, Folkestone, on 21 October. It was reported that a wallet containing a bank card, a laptop and a mobile phone were stolen during the incident.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on October 28, and was remanded in custody.

His next hearing will be at Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
