Canterbury Hockey Club came from behind four times to earn a 4-4 draw against Men's Conference East promotion rivals Old Loughtonians.

Both teams went into the match boasting 100 per ecent records, but the draw enabled Southgate to go clear at the top after they beat Sevenoaks 3-0.

Alex Jennings gave Loughts a 22nd minute lead at Polo Farm, but within two minutes Canterbury's Richard Keir had equalised.

Adam Wheater gave the visitors the lead for the second time just a minute before half time but Browne's first of the day, from a penalty corner, tied things up again three minutes after the restart.

Canterbury were behind again on 40 minutes as Stuart Hendy made it 3-2 but nine minutes later Stuart Goodman brought the home side level once more.

Loughts got their noses in front for the fourth time with 18 minutes remaining when Oliver Didham pounced but this time their advantage lasted just two minutes as Canterbury player-coach Browne converted another corner.

Canterbury Ladies earned their first away point of the season in the EH Women's Premier Division when they drew 1-1 with Brooklands Poynton.

Jenny Hall gave them a fourth minute lead but the home side equalised five minutes before half time through Natalie Wray. Canterbury had previously lost on the road at Leicester, and Olton and West Warwicks.
