Whitstable boss Justin Luchford has spoken of his frustration as he tries to compete for signings who are keen to follow the money.

The Town boss (pictured) has agreed deals with Stuart Vahid and Scott Heard for next season, but is finding his attempts to add to his squad being thwarted by players’ asking prices.

Luchford said: "I have met a few players already but nobody wants to commit. I am sick to death of players holding you to ransom.

"I don’t know who they think they are. The economic world we live in today means things are tight for everyone.

"I’m playing a waiting game and I’m frustrated, to be honest.

"I feel like this club has a lot to offer and we’re capable of going places."
