When hospital worker Maureen Kelly felt a little peckish she took a chocolate bar bought earlier in the day from her bag.

But she soon lost her appetite when she found a nail file inside the wrapping.

Maureen, 42, of Blackburn Road, Greenhill, made the shocking find in a Cadbury Twirl she had bought hours earlier at a petrol station.

The Kent and Canterbury Hospital library clerk said: “I was feeling really peckish at my desk and remembered I had the bar in my bag.

“I had eaten one finger and then found the emery board in the wrapper.

“I felt so sick. I cannot believe someone working in a controlled food environment can get away with leaving this in a chocolate bar.”

Maureen packaged the wrapper in a piece of kitchen roll to send to Cadbury.

A Cadbury spokesman said it would investigate the find once it had received the wrapper.
