Simon Halsey has hailed a "massive week" for his resurgent side as he targets a return to the top half of Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Bay are up to 15th after seven points from nine and are only six points off a return to the top-10 after a barren spell of two points from eight games.

Bay made it back-to-back league wins with a 4-2 success on Saturday at Merstham and on Tuesday night two goals in as many minutes earned Bay a point at high-flying Sittingbourne.

Halsey (pictured) said: "I am well happy with seven points from three tough away games and it’s already made a massive difference to the table.

"It’s been a big week for us because we are back within sight of the top-half and have got games in hand over a lot of the teams above us."

Bay host Walton Casuals on Saturday with the rearranged Kent Senior Cup, quarter-final with Charlton to follow on Wednesday and Halsey added: "It’s a good opportunity for us to make it 10 points from 12 and go into the Charlton game with confidence high."

Meanwhile, Bay first-team coach Hugo Langton has left the club to join Ryman League, Premier Division side Hastings.

Halsey said: "He’s done a good job here but it’s a good opportunity for him to work at a higher level. We wish him well."
