The Met Office has revealed temperatures could drop to -1 °C overnight across the south east.

Main roads will be treated to help prevent the formation of ice and frost on surfaces tonight, Kent County Council have announced.

They have urged motorists to drive "cautiously and be deliberate and slower in actions" - and not to be surprised by sudden traffic light changes or other vehicles braking.

The local authority has also warned harsh braking, steering and acceleration are key precursors to skidding on ice and snow.
