Police on patrol near Sandwich saw a van which had been linked to recent burglaries in the area on Monday afternoon.

The van was stopped and two men were arrested.

Further investigations led to Stephen Baillie and Taylor Houston being charged with conspiracy to burgle.

The charge relates to 10 burglaries and attempted burglaries of homes in October and November this year.

Baillie, 32, of Westgate Court Avenue in Canterbury, and Houston, 28, of Canterbury Road in Herne Bay, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on January 3.
