Girl dies after collision with car

A 10-year-old girl has died in hospital after being stuck by a car.

Kent Police have named the girl as Jessica Smith-Bellem, who lived in Canterbury.

She was in collision with a silver Toyota Yaris on the Toucan crossing in

on Military Road, Canterbury, last Wednesday.

She was was taken to QEQM hospital in Margate with serious head, chest and leg injuries. On Thursday she was transferred to Kings Hospital in London where she later died.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the collision.
