Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in a home in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay.

Two fire engines rushed to the scene of the fire, which was sparked by a microwave and spread to the kitchen, at around 10.20pm.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel jet to tackle the flames, before clearing smoke and fumes from the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
