Whitstable firefighters shop for smoky smell at Tesco

Firefighters were called to Tesco in Whitstable today after reports of a strong smoky smell.

Two fire engines were parked outiside the Millstrood Road supermarket at 1pm as crews investigated where the smell was coming from.

Ladders were used to check ceiling areas inside and outside the store.

No customers were evacuated with a tannoy announcement telling people there was no cause for alarm.
