A DRUNK who made Nazi salutes towards a group of Dutch students in a Kent city has more than 370 previous convictions.

Magistrates heard that John Pike, 47, swore at and sprayed beer at the students just hours after Canterbury Crown Court had released him from custody. The abuse lasted 20 minutes before police arrived.

Chris Mayo, prosecuting, said 5ft tall Pike told the 13- and 14-year-old students to "go back to your own country".

Mr Mayo said: "He was being abusive, swearing and making Nazi 'Sieg Heil' salutes."

Pike, who is homeless, admitted racially aggravated threatening behaviour towards the Dutch students and threatening behaviour towards the police.

He was jailed for 120 days. He has already served 21 days on remand.

Oliver Kirk, defending, said Pike’s 370 previous convictions were mostly drink-related public order offences plus thefts.
