Canterbury men's 1sts have given themselves a fighting chance of avoiding relegation from the Premier Division by defeating Loughborough Students 3-2 in Saturday's penultimate round of matches.

Victory for basement side Canterbury on Sunday at home to second-from-bottom Brooklands - beaten 4-0 at the weekend - would see the City side leapfrog their rivals and be given a chance of avoiding relegation via the play-offs.

Canterbury responded from falling behind in the 10th minute at Loughborough with short corner goals from Matthew Botha and Kwan Browne (pictured).

Mickel Pierre put the visitors 3-1 ahead and despite conceding a second goal, Canterury held on for only their second league win of the season.
