Canterbury stay bottom of the England Hockey League men’s Premier Division after a 2-0 home defeat by Hampstead & Westminster at Polo Farm on Saturday.

Playing their first game after the mid-season break, the home side conceded both goals in the space of six minutes in the first half.

Will Naylor put the visitors ahead from open play, and Kieran Roche converted a penalty corner shortly afterwards.

It was Canterbury’s seventh defeat in 10 games, and leaves them a point behind Cannock.
