Canterbury Ladies maintain their play-off hopes with comfortable victory over University of Birmingham

Canterbury Ladies boosted their chances of reaching the Women’s Premier Division end of season play-offs with a 6-2 win at University of Birmingham on Sunday.

They were 3-0 up in 31 minutes with goals by Sarah Kerly, Grace Balsdon and Jen Wilson (pictured), back after injury, before the home side hit back with two either side of half-time.

However Canterbury eased to a comfortable victory with goals by Rebecca Weston, Jenny Hall and Natasha Brennan.

Canterbury are now fourth on 22 points the same as Olton & West Warwicks, but with a better goal difference, the top five teams qualifying.

They face champions Leicester in their final game of the regulation season at Polo Farm on Saturday.
