Woman suffers head injury after being knocked down on crossing near St Dunstan's Church in Canterbury

A pensioner suffered a head a injury after she was hit by a car in Canterbury this morning.

The 76-year-old woman was struck at the pedestrian crossing next to St Dunstan's Church, in St Dunstan's Street, at just after 9am.

Two police cars arrived at the scene and officers helped traffic moving on the busy street.

The woman was treated for a knock to the head in the back of a paramedic car.

She was conscious and it is not thought she was seriously hurt.

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service took the woman to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
