A257 Ash Bypass shut after crash between Wingham and Sandwich

Emergency services have been called to a serious crash on a busy road.

Police and paramedics are at the scene of the collision on the A257 Ash Bypass, near the junction for Guilton.

The force confirmed officers were called to the scene at 11am, along with paramedics and an air ambulance.

The road was closed from Preston Hill to Nash Road and it is understood it reopened at about 8pm.

It is understood a lorry and a cyclist have been involved in a collision, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Kent Highways posted about the incident between Wingham and Sandwich on social media shortly before 11.30am.

"Delays near Nash Road junction following an RTC," they said. "Approach with caution."
