Jobs fair at Canterbury College a big success

Hundreds of job hunters attended an employment fair at Canterbury College this week.

The KentJobs Fair was a joint initiative between the East Kent College group and the KM Media Group, aimed at bringing employers, trainers and those looking for new career opportunities together.

About 20 employers, recruitment and training agencies exhibited, with a steady flow of visitors to their stands throughout the event.

Among the exhibitors was Mark Lofthouse, who is experience manager at Dreamland at Margate.

He said: "We have a variety of exciting job opportunities across the board as the park continues to develop.

"They include ride operators, in food and beverage, events management as well as entertainers.

"It's an incredibly exciting and fun place to work and we are delighted with the amount of interest we have had."

Vicki Rice, of recruitment agency Red Eagle, was equally as enthusiastic.

"We go to quite a few of these fairs and this has been by far the best," she said.

"There has been lots of visitors to the stand and dozens of people have arrived already with their CVs and we are confident we will be able to place many of them in employment."

The fair ends at 2pm.
