Baby boy dies after car crash

An eight-month-old baby has died in hospital following a car crash in Challock on Tuesday.

The baby boy from Faversham was being treated at London’s Kings Hospital after a red Fiat Punto collided with a tree and overturned on Buck Street (A251) at 6.55pm.

He was originally taken to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital before being transfered to Kings where died on Wednesday.

His mother, a 27-year-old woman from the Faversham area, who was driving, sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while officers carried out an investigation and recovered the car.
