Appeal after bird shooting

A SEAGULL died after being shot with an air weapon in a Kent city.

Police were called to the Knight Avenue area of Canterbury after reports of seagulls being shot out of the sky.

Officers found a wounded seagull in Prioress Road. Although the bird was given to the RSPCA for treatment it had to be put down.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident, which took place at about 1.30pm on Tuesday, February 13.
