Pedestrian seriously injured in crash on the A28 at Chartham

A man has been taken to hospital with severe injuries after being hit by a car on the busy A28 at Chartham.

It happened at around 7.15pm yesterday when police received a report of a pedestrian being knocked down by a Land Rover.

The road was closed as police and paramedics attended and the victim was given emergency treatment before being taken to hospital.

Accident investigators attended the scene and the road was re-opened at around 11.30pm.
