A serious accident on the coastbound A2 caused major tailbacks on Wednesday afternoon.
A car and a van were involved in the incident between junction 7 of the M2 at Brenley Corner and the A2050, Upper Harbledown, near Canterbury.
Emergency services were called to the scene, near Dunkirk at around 12.45pm.
The van went down the embankment, scattering debris across the road. There was also extensive damage to crash barriers.
The road remained closed for more than two hours to allow police to clear the scene and was eventually reopened at 3pm.
