Emergency services called to Church Street in Erith after man found dead

A man has been found dead at a house following a massive emergency services call-out.

A large-scale investigation took place in Erith after police were called over concerns for a man.

After being called at 3.15pm yesterday, officers entered a property in Church Street, where they found the body of a man in his 40s.

The road was cordoned off and the London Fire Brigade and paramedics were also at the scene.

It is understood that the man’s death is being treated as “unexpected”.

A spokesperson for the met police said: “Police were called at 3.15p on Sunday, June 18 after concerns were raised about the welfare of a man at a residential property in Church Road, Erith.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. A man, aged in his 40s, was found dead the scene. His next of kin are yet to be informed.

“The death is being treated as unexpected and enquiries are taking place to establish the circumstances.”
