Four men have been arrested on suspicion of affray, and they were taken to south London police stations.

A Met Police spokesman said: "At the scene, a male was found, suffering stab wounds to the leg.

"The injured male was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition."

From 4.55pm until 4.55am tomorrow, a section 60 criminal justice and public act - an increased use of stop and search powers - has been authorised to help Met Police officers deal with the violence.

It affects Cray East, Cray West, Farnborough, Petts Wood, Chelsfield and Pratt's Bottom.

Borough neighbourhoods inspector Stuart Baker is in the area with officers, enforcing the section 60.

He said: "We will continue to take robust action on violent criminals and those who seek to do harm."
