The 38-year-old was last seen in Penge and is known to have travelled to Camber after he was reported missing to Met Police.

He is thought to have travelled through Kent on the A21 driving a Renault van with ladders on the roof.

Formal identification of the body is yet to take place but a spokesman for Sussex Police said it is believed to be that of Mr Spence and was found last Friday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner, police said.
