A young boy has been airlifted to hospital after a car crash in Great Chart in Ashford

A seven-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after two cars with young families travelling in them collided in Ashford.

The boy was in a Mini with another child and a woman when it crashed with a Nissan car in Ashford Road, Great Chart, at 4.30pm on Friday.

He was flown to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, London, with head injuries, which police described as non-life threatening.

A man, woman and baby were travelling in the Nissan and the woman, aged 27, had to be freed by firefighters and taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

Her injuries were also not life threatening according to police and the air ambulance crew.

Police said the road opened at 6.55pm.
