Three vehicle crash shuts lane on the M20 junction 10 roundabout

A motorway lane had to be closed following an accident, which injured a woman.

Lane 1 was shut on the M20 Junction 10 roundabout at Ashford this morning after a three-vehicle collision.

It happened on a slip road near the coastbound carriageway.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance crew attended the scene following reports of road traffic collision shortly after 6.30am today.

"One patient, suffering injuries including back and neck pain, was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "A woman sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

"Work is ongoing to repair traffic lights, which were damaged during the collision."

Highways England had tweeted a warning about the accident and told drivers to approach the area with care.

It said there were minor traffic delays.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it was called just before 6.50am but a spokesman said: "Two fire engines attended but no action was required from crews."

Firefighters were at the scene until 7.20am.
