TV journalist Ben Brown returned to his Kentish roots to sign copies of his first ever novel.

The BBC foreign correspondent visited his mother Sheila’s shop, The Gallery in Charing High Street, to give his autograph and chat to customers on Saturday .

The book, Sandstealers, is a thriller about journalists covering a war.

Mr Brown originally lived in Smarden and went to Sutton Valence School near Maidstone.
