Town to get new nightclub

A new nightclub is set to open its doors to customers in Ashford on Friday night.

Elusive is located on the site of the former Kudos club opposite Ashford International station.

The kmfm cruisers will be in attendance as the first customers are welcomed at 8pm.

Tickets are £6 all night and the club will be strictly over-21s only, with a smart dresscode in place.

The club will then be open between Thursdays and Sunday, with a late licence on Fridays and Saturdays until 3am.

The new owners only took over the building two weeks ago and say they will employ about 20 staff, including door staff and bartenders.

Initially only the ground floor of the club will be open, but the owners plan to extend onto the upper three floors in the early spring.

Manager Brooke Bailey said: “We’ve taken on a challenge in opening a club that hasn’t been open in four years.

“We want to attract the higher end of the market, the more discerning clubbers who often have to go to London for a good night out.

“Elusive will play a wide variety of music, with the main emphasis on a comfortable atmosphere, a beautiful environment and friendly services.”

He said the music will vary from night to night, with funky house, R&B and soul classics on Fridays and Saturdays.

Sunday will see a more relaxed atmosphere, with chill-out music and ska featuring heavily.

The management also plan to host bands and showcase local talent to make Elusive a more diverse venue.

Special events for Boxing Day night and New Year’s Eve are already being planned.
