Traffic delays starting to clear in Ashford after collision

Motorists are being warned of severe delays around Ashford this morning due to a collision.

The incident happened eastbound on Somerset Road, between the junctions with Canterbury Road and Wellesley Road.

It is causing severe delays around the town centre, with traffic nearby heading towards Hythe Road at a standstill.

Emergency services are at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a collision involving a car and a van at 7.22am.

"Officers attended the scene in Somerset Road in Ashford. No injuries were reported."
