Young Ashford woman, 21, who reportedly jumped from top of Waitrose, in Sir Bernard Paget Avenue, remains in hospital

A woman who reportedly jumped off the roof of Waitrose in Ashford remains in hospital this week.

Police say the 21-year-old is still in hospital with extensive injuries after suffering fractured ankles and a pelvis injury when she fell 30ft from the top of the Sir Bernard Paget Avenue supermarket.

Paramedics were called to the store on Tuesday of last week to reports a young woman was on top of the building.

More than half-a-dozen police officers were also called to the superstore and cordoned off an area close to the Repton Avenue entrance.

A forensic unit was also spotted at the scene.

Police say the woman is understood to have reportedly jumped from the building at around 5.30pm.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to King’s College Hospital in London by ambulance.

It is understood she was conscious on the way to the hospital.

There is no investigation into the incident.
