Residents should find it easier to shop a fly-tipper, litter-dropper or vandal thanks to a new online reporting system.

Ashford Borough Council (ABC) has launched DRAFT, an online, mobile-friendly system to report incidents to the council.

Each report is given a reference number and residents can track the progress of the incident online.

Cllr Clair Bell, cabinet member for borough presentation said: "Ashford is a beautiful place and we all need to do our bit to look after the borough.

"By working together we can maintain local pride and protect our environment and countryside for the enjoyment of everyone."

The site enables residents to report issues such as fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, vandalism, anti-social behaviour or planning enforcement issues.

The council said it is part of their "tough but fair" approach to enforcement and compliance.

Cllr Stephen Dehnel, chair of the compliance and enforcement board, said the council is very serious about pursuing people who "knowingly and deliberately flout controls, or seek to deceive or defraud the council."

He said: "We will make sure we target the minority who spoil things for the majority by taking a firm but fair approach to enforcement."
