Folkestone Invicta continued their unbeaten start in Ryman League Division 1 South on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory at Eastbourne Town.

Invicta, who shared a goalless draw with Dulwich Hamlet on opening day, took the lead three minutes before half time when Michael Everitt struck.

Eastbourne equalised two minutes after the break through Jamie Salvidge but close-season signing Dave Cory had the final say, capping a fine game with the winner on 53 minutes.

Ashford are without a point and a goal after going down 2-0 at home to Merstham. The result followed a 7-0 thrashing against Croydon Athletic on Saturday. Zak Graham and John Hamsher (penalty) were the Merstham scorers at Homelands.

Whitstable were the latest team to feel the force of Croydon, being handed a 5-0 home defeat at Belmont.

Dartford made it two wins out of two with a 4-0 success at Margate in Ryman League Premier Division on Tuesday.

Jamie Day's free-kick put the Darts ahead after 20 minutes before they hit the woodwork through Rob Haworth and Lee Burns.

Haworth made it 2-0 on the hour and goals from Elliot Bradbrook and substitute Allan Tait (pictured) - his first for the club - rounded off the win in the second half.

Boss Tony Burman said: "We should have really gone in two or three up at the break, and it would have been 'game over’.

"We said to the lads at half-time that they needed to be a bit more clinical, and to be fair they put that right in the second half.”

Tonbridge blasted away Cray Wanderers with a stunning start at Hayes Lane before going on to win 3-1.

A Tommy Osborne own goal within the first minute of his home debut set the tone and Paul Booth made it 2-0 after five minutes.

Booth then headed in Kirk Watts' cross to make it 3-0 after just 25 minutes. Cray pulled a goal back through Michael Power on the hour mark.

James Pinnock scored a 78th-minute winner as Maidstone chalked up their first league win of the season, 2-1 at Waltham Abbey.

Substitute Tony Gonnella had earlier levelled out a first-half opener for the hosts, although the Stones did lose striker Meshach Nugent to injury.

A last-gasp winner in Division 1 South saw Chatham gain their first win of the season, 3-2 against Burgess Hill.

Alex O'Brien's side had led 2-0 through goals in either half from Brendon Cass and Justin Ascheri only for the vistors to level it up at 2-2.

However, Ascheri scored with virtually the last kick of the game to hand Chatham maximum points.

Sittingbourne dominated for long periods during their trip to Chipstead but failed to find a breakthrough and had to settle for a goalless draw while Ramsgate went down 1-0 at Whyteleafe.

VCD gained their first win in the Ryman League after a 3-2 home success over Tilbury in Division 1 North.

Paul Foley's men twice led before Tilbury equalised but there was no way back for the visitors after VCD hit an 89th-minute winner.

Rivals Thamesmead also got off the mark, with a creditable 4-1 success at Romford.

After Romford took the lead in the first minute, Andy Constable equallised on five minutes and then put the Mead ahead midway through the first half.

Marcus Perona extended the lead just before half-time and Jack Hopkins rounded off an excellent evening for the visitors.
