A woman needed hospital treatment after a disturbance in an Ashford hotel room.

Police were called to the Premier Inn, in Ashford's Eureka Leisure Park, at around 8.30pm on Saturday.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.

Kent Police said he has since been bailed until July 12, pending further inquiries.

A 33-year-old woman was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, with minor injuries.

The arrest followed an earlier domestic dispute at the Beefeater Grill, in the leisure park, in which a man reportedly suffered cuts to his face.

Witnesses report seeing the couple arguing, shortly before leaving for the nearby hotel where they were staying.
