Kent Police dog Coty helps offers make two arrests after suspected assault in St Stephens Walk, Ashford

Two suspects wanted over an alleged assault were arrested after being tracked by a police dog.

The highly-trained hound, called Coty, was called in after officers received a report that a woman had been attacked in St Stephens Walk, South Ashford, shortly before 3am yesterday.

Picking up a scent, Coty led them to a spot near Watermead Close where a woman in her 30s and a man in his 20s were both arrested in connection with the incident.

Both have since been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Officers would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone from the area who may have dashcam or doorbell footage that would assist officers with their investigation."
