Preparations for one of the biggest music events of the year in Ashford are now well under way.

Victoria Park will again be the venue for the 2008 Create music festival, which runs from midday until 8pm on Sunday.

Returning for its 13th year, the Create festival is expected to attract several thousand people to the park to listen to live bands and take part in DJ workshops.

Admission is free.

The headline act for the main stage are the 21st Century Stones, a Rolling Stones tribute band.

Other featured bands and singers include John Wood, More Than Normal, Los Salvadores, One Day Elliott, ShyChlo and the Boys, Springtide Cavalry, D-finitive, Man Eat Monkey, Dolan’s Cadillac and Under The Thumb.

As well as the main stage, there is also the Right Track Music Stage for up-and-coming bands to get a taste of performing live in front of an expected audience of 5,000.

Dance music is represented in the DJ tent with Acetate Records providing the headline set and running DJ workshops throughout the day.

The park will also host a funfair, various exhibition stalls, face painting, children's attractions and lots of food stalls.
