The news of the big brand’s debut was announced last month with the centre’s deputy manager saying customers have long called for the American firm to take on a unit at the Outlet.

Once open, North Face will sit between Nike and Moss Bros and take a double unit. It will be just under 3,400sq ft in size.

Speaking about its opening on July 7, deputy centre manager Peter Heritage said the company is currently at work inside the unit.

“We are incredibly excited about bringing The North Face to the centre,” he said.

“They are consistently one of our most, if not the most, requested brand.

“It has been a long time coming and there has been a lot of work to get them into the centre so we are really delighted and we are really excited to have them opening with us.”

The retailer specialises in outdoor recreation products, and the Ashford store will be the second in the county, with the other being at Bluewater.

North Face producst are also sold at Blacks in Tunbridge Wells, Cotswold Outdoor in Maidstone and CF Hoads in Sevenoaks.

Also at the outlet, classic English shoe maker Loakes, should be opening later this month.

“They offer high quality, handmade footwear,” Mr Heritage added.

“They are hopefully going to be open on June 24 and will be near Starbucks.

“They are a really great addition to the centre and offer great products so we are looking forward to getting those guys open too.”

Meanwhile, Wagamamas has opened in its extended form which Mr Heritage says looks amazing and is introducing a new menu to coincide.

The Outlet has also opened a garden area near Starbucks called the Garden of Joy, giving guests a place to sit in the sun.

“We have deck chairs, seating and grass so it is a great place for people to sit in the sun with an ice cream and relax while the weather is so nice,” he said.

“We came up with the idea because we screened the coronation and kept the seating area. It has been so successful and we will definitely do something like it in the future again.”
