A new nightclub is about to open in Ashford.

Arena Live, the new owners of the former Rain nightclub at Eureka Park, say some of the biggest DJs will be performing at the venue following a £1 million facelift.
The finishing touches are under way at the club to get it ready for Saturday's launch night.

Arena Live were given permission to extend the venue's opening hours until 6am by Ashford council’s licensing committee last week.

Arena Live director Matt Dice said the venue, capable of housing up to 2,000 people, will put Ashford on the map with people travelling to the town from across the county.
He said: “We’re not just going to be opening the doors for the sake of it. People will travel from across Kent to come to see our shows.
“At the moment we’re seeing people having to go to the Winter Gardens in Margate or Leas Cliff in Folkestone but we’re offering a more modern, up-to-date and bigger place which will make Ashford an entertainment destination.”
Changes to the licence were approved despite opposition from some nearby residents, concerned about noise.

But Mr Dice said the club's new sound system has its speakers pointing away from the residential area and soundproofing has been installed.
A smoking area that was close to homes has also been moved to the front of the building and a hole in the fence used by revellers to cut through the estate has been blocked up.
The inside of the venue been changed to include a stage to host bands, stage plays and show films. There are also plans offer children’s activities during the school holidays including music workshops, roller skating and laser quest.
Manager Colin Hinds said Saturday’s launch party will include fire eaters, pyrotechnics and dancers until 6am.
He said: “This is going to be one of the best destinations in Kent to see some of the biggest acts from around the world and I believe it will bring people to Ashford.
“We will keep changing what we offer so it will always be fresh and the work we’ve been doing means it will be a safe environment for people to come to.”
