A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a road crash today.

The accident, between a motorcycle and a car, happened at Maidstone Road, Charing, at 11.40am.

Maidstone-bound traffic had to be diverted through the village after the crash but police re-opened the road just before 1pm.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, suffered an arm injury and was taken by ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Kent County Council highways workers had also been called in after the crash to clear a small spillage of fuel.
