Man shot in the face in Ashford

A man has been shot in the face with an airgun in what police believe was a random attack.

Firearms officers were deployed to the house in Luddenham Close, Stanhope, Ashford, at 10.40am on Monday, where they found a 38-year-old man with a facial injury caused by a single BB or airgun pellet.

He was taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital where he will remain until the swelling goes down and surgeons can operate to remove the pellet.

Four men, aged 21, 27, 30 and 31, were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been released on bail until July 23 while police make further inquiries.
