Ashford man arrested after trees and plants stolen from Kennington and Chilmington Green

A man has been arrested after a spate of thefts of trees and plants.

The suspect was tracked down by police after several plants and pots were stolen from driveways and gardens in Ashford.

Officers began inquires after potted trees were stolen from outside at least three properties in the Kennington and Chilmington Green areas.

A 22-year-old man from the Ashford area was arrested on suspicion of theft last Wednesday, and has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police are continuing to look into the incidents, which occurred on Wednesday, March 30.

Two similar thefts were also reported in Chilmington Green on Wednesday, February 9.
