A 24-year-old man was taken to a London hospital following an accident involving industrial machinery.

The air ambulance was called to the small village of Westwell, near Ashford, just after noon on Wednesday where the man had suffered what a South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman described as a serious arm injury.

The patient was taken to King’s College Hospital by land ambulance.

The Health and Safety Executive confirmed it was investigating.
