Biker hurt in central reservation crash on M20 near Ashford

A motorcyclist has been injured after hitting the central reservation of the M20 near Ashford this afternoon.

The motorway was shut in both directions after the crash, on the London-bound carriageway, at about 5pm.

Commuters faced long delays, with a section of the road between J9 and J8 shut and causing knock-on congestion.

The air ambulance is understood to have landed at the scene, but the biker's condition is unknown.

The Highways Agency warned motorists to expect delays during the evening rush-hour.
