M20 moving again after incident on bridge coastbound between junctions 9 and 10

There were long delays on the M20 after it was closed coast-bound due to a police incident between junctions 9 and 10.

Two men were reportedly seen arguing on a bridge.

Police were called just after 12.30pm and closed the carriageway for around an hour.

A spokesman said: "Police were called at 12.37pm following reports of concern for the welfare of a man on the footbridge over the M20 at Ashford close to junction 10.

"The coast-bound carriageway was closed as a precaution while officers dealt with the incident.

"The man was safely detained by officers and the carriageway had re-opened by 1.40pm."

Delays had cleared by 3pm.
