Lorry spillage closed motorway

A large section of the M20 was closed for most of Satuday after an HGV overturned, spilling cocoa onto the motorway.

Emergency services were called at 9.15am to to deal with the accident.

The driver escaped unhurt.

However, the incident left the London-bound motorway closed from Junction 12 to 10 for most of the day, with junctions 10-11 remaining blocked.

Folkestone fire crew was among those attending the incident.

They returned to their base only to be called back at midday as some material was spontaneously combusting.
