Lorry driver in M20 death crash named

THE driver killed when his articulated lorry left the carriageway of the M20 and collided with sewage works has been identified by Kent Police.

Robert Peter Holcroft, 38, from Ashford, was driving a lorry registered to a Belgian company Brit-European, when the tragedy happened on Monday.

The cause of the crash is not yet known and the police are appealing for witnesses.

Peter Warner, traffic sergeant and senior investigating officer, said: "The side of the lorry was emblazoned with 'Brit-European' in bold red letters.

"If you saw the vehicle immediately prior to the collision or have any further information relating to this incident, I urge you to contact Kent Police on 01622 690 690.

"The information you have may help us to uncover the reason this terrible tragedy occurred."
