Leon Camier is primed to clinch the British Superbike title this weekend during the penultimate round at Silverstone.

Five races remain, with two at Silverstone and a triple-header in the final round at Oulton Park in October and Camier is currently leading the field by 99.5 points.

Only Airwaves Yamaha team-mate James Ellison can catch him but he’ll need to reduce the margin between himself and Camier to 75 points, to give himself any hope of making the final round of any significance.

Camier (pictured) won last time out at Croft – his 16th win of the season – to take his points tally to 434.5 and leave only Ellison as a possible title challenger.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to Silverstone. In terms of the races, it's just business as usual. I know what I need to do; I'll prepare as normal, keep myself busy and not really think about the Championship a whole lot.

"GSE Racing, Spidi, Feridax and Nigel Hill from Jewson are all here this weekend. Without their continued support, I definitely wouldn't be in this position. A good couple of results should hopefully go some way to thank them."
