Leatherhead 2 Ashford 0

A calamitous own-goal from Ashford keeper Darren Ibrahim (pictured) after just six minutes paved the way for Town’s 2-0 defeat at Leatherhead on Saturday.

Ibrahim’s attempt to throw the ball to a full-back saw him hit a Town player on the back of the head with the ball falling to 6’10"striker Leon Simpson, who lobbed the ball goalwards over Ibrahim’s head. The ball bounced off the post and hit the back-peddling keeper on the shins before rolling into the net.

Simpson grabbed his second on 20 minutes to leave Town floundering at the foot of Ryman League Division 1 South, six points from safety.

Folkestone Invicta extended their lead at the top of Ryman League Division 1 South with a last-gasp 1-0 win over Walton & Hersham on Saturday.

Josh Vincent (pictured) grabbed the only goal in the final minute at the Buzzlines Stadium to take Invicta four points clear of second-placed Worthing, with a game in hand.
