A pub in Wye has turned to a singing star to add that purr-fect touch to its menu.

Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon is hoping to hit the right note at King's Head pub in Church Street, as guest 'chef'.

The pop singer, who won Celebrity Masterchef in 2008, will have one of her dishes on the menu each month.

The pub, which is owned by Shepherd Neame, underwent a huge makeover and relaunch earlier this year.

Miss McClarnon’s first special on the pub’s menu is deconstructed beef wellington - which won her the Masterchef title.

The Liverpudlian, whose best friend and manager Scott Richardson is one of the partners in the new business, revealed she has been visiting the village for years and would love to move to the area.

“I’ve been coming her for years and years now,” she said. “I’m in love with it. I just love Wye so much.

“It’s a close village and it’s tight knit. It’s an old school village where everyone knows everyone.”

When Miss McClarnon isn't cooking up a storm on the pub's menu, she's enjoying a revival in the band's fortunes.

Following on from the success of the Big Reunion TV show, which saw Atomic Kitten joining forces with other pop groups of their time - including 911, Honeyz, B*Witched, Five and Liberty X - a UK arena tour is set to start in May.
