Ashford’s Ella Barnes dumped from Love Island villa ahead of live final on ITV2

A contestant from Kent has been dumped from the Love Island villa, missing out on a spot in the final.

Ella Barnes, 23, from Ashford left the show last night alongside her partner Mitchel Taylor, after they were voted the least compatible couple by their fellow islanders and the public.

The ITV2 show, which is now in its tenth series, will come to an end tonight when the winners are crowned in the live final.

Project manager Sammy Root, who is also from Kent, has made it into the final four couples competing for the £50,000 prize.

The 22-year-old, who is coupled up with Jess Harding, is the bookie's third favourite to win.

They follow Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo who are predicted to win, and Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas who are expected to finish second.

Zachariah Noble and Molly Marsh are predicted to take fourth place.

Ella entered the villa in Mallorca as a bombshell earlier this month.

Her Instagram page portrays a glamourous lifestyle, with photos shared from across the world - including Ibiza, Dubai and swanky London venues.

Yet she also indulges in some "retail therapy" closer to home at Ashford Designer Outlet.

Her appearance on the reality was not the first time Ella, a former pupil of Homewood School in Tenterden, has taken centre stage.

She has performed with the English Youth Ballet and won a national title for dancing.

And back in 2012, she had a starring role as an Olympic torch bearer as the flame passed through Kent.

Ella was nominated by Homewood teacher Charlie Price for her dancing success and because she was an inspiration to other pupils.

A year later, she performed with the English Youth Ballet in a production of Swan Lake, taking to the stage at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

Then in 2015 she won the Great British Championships in freestyle disco dance for her age group, according to her Linkedin page.

After Homewood, Ella went to West Kent College and Ashford College, where she studied business marketing and law.

She is now a beautician and a qualified make-up artist with her own business called Beauty By Ell, which is registered in Ashford.
