Image of man released after sex attack on train between Ashford International and Rye railway station

Detectives have released an image of a man following a sex attack on a train.

The assault happened on a service between Ashford International and Rye railway station as the victim was travelling to Camber Sands with three friends.

They boarded a service at about 11.30am on Saturday, May 27, and stood in one of the carriages.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “A man was also standing in the carriage and during the journey he sexually assaulted the victim.

“When the train arrived at Rye, the man put on a black surgical mask and ran out of the station.

“Detectives believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.”
